(1/20/2022) - The team at AGE+ and JFRF want to take a moment to show our great gratitude to all of the LECs who work so hard each and every day to bring joy and connection to the lives of the older adults in their communities. We appreciate you. Thank you for embodying all of the principles of LEAP, and bringing your care and attention to the hearts of your residents. Happy National Activity Professional Week.

The 2019 theme, Connect, Create, Contribute, encourages older adults and their communities to: Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation. Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment. Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others. Communities that encourage the contributions of older adults are stronger! By engaging and supporting all community members, we recognize that older adults play a key role in the vitality of our neighborhoods, networks, and lives. • Wildwood Canyon Villa Celebrates Assisted Living Week! (9/5/2017) - Wildwood Canyon Villa, located in Yucaipa, CA, celebrated National Assisted Living Week (NALW) in early September. NALW, started by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), was created to offer an opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. This year's theme, "Family is Forever," is truly a special one. According to NCAL Executive Director Scott Tittle, "Anyone who has spent valuable time in an assisted living community has seen how staff can come to think of their residents like family. It takes a special person to work in our profession, and often, caregivers form bonds that can never be broken. This National Assisted Living Week, we want to recognize these amazing individuals who give their heart and soul to their residents, as well as those seniors and individuals with disabilities who leave a lasting imprint on their caregivers.” Congratulations to Wildwood Canyon Villa's LEAP team for creating a beautiful board for display! Did your community participate in NALW? Let us know and send us pictures! Email info@jfrfoundation.org. Click here for more information about NALW.
